A conflict of interest exists when a person's judgement about a manuscript could be influenced, or could be seen to be influenced, by a financial or personal interest. Pharma Research asks everyone involved in publishing – authors, reviewers and editors – to declare such interests.

Authors

All authors must declare funding sources, employment, consultancies, stock holdings, patents, honoraria and any relationship with a company whose product is discussed in the paper. Declarations are printed in the article under "Conflict of Interest". If there are none, the statement should read "The authors declare no conflict of interest."

Reviewers and editors

Separate guidance applies to reviewers and to editors.

Undeclared interests

If an undeclared conflict comes to light after publication, the journal will investigate following COPE guidance and may publish a correction or, in serious cases, retract the article.
